Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon to Fri  08.00 to 17.00) 
Salary: £24,647.80 per annum

About the role

As the PPM Technician for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will ensure all equipment is tested & repaired in line with Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) as well as other regulations

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment in service users’ homes and in house.

  • Driving a large van and completing fully all the mandatory vehicle checks
  • At times, where necessary, delivering and collecting disability equipment to service users’ homes, hospitals, and health centres.
  • Identifying the stock to be on the van and loading equipment in the van
  • Multiple service jobs daily, some of which can include heavy lifting 
  • Providing polite, empathetic and client focused service
  • Undertake risk assessments on all required activities 
  • Using a weight rig to service and maintain hoists
  • Understanding and demonstrating the correct functionality and safe installation of items, identifying repair and replace and damaged or faulty stock.
  • Being able to identify and report immediately any perceived safeguarding issues to your line manager.
  • Use of a scanner to complete jobs, competent in adding notes/comments 
  • Adhering to timeslots and liaising with service users if this is not possible.
  • Being on call on a rotational basis receiving enhanced allowance during this period.
  • PAT testing responsibilities

Qualifications and experience required.

  • You must have a full UK driving licence (minimum of 3 years)
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Be flexible with working days/hours to suit the needs of the business and participate in an emergency on-call rota.
