About the role

As the Recycling Operative for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will be pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the success of your depot. You will do this by ensuring that all tasks are undertaken and completed to the highest of standards, enabling the depot to deliver the highest possible service to our clients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Scanning returned equipment into the correct area prior to cleaning.
  • Ensuring all stock control processes are followed at all times and all items are in the correct location.
  • Segregate items for cleaning. NB some items may be heavily soiled.
  • Decontaminate thoroughly, using agreed processes and appropriate cleaning equipment including jet wash, steam cleaner.
  • Check the item can be returned to shelf in clean and fit for purpose condition.
  • Follow the company’s guidelines for dealing with scrap equipment disposal and to carefully follow the health and safety guidelines regarding the control of hazardous substances.
  • Adhering stringently to Medequip processes regarding stock accountability
  • Unloading delivery vehicles in a safe and competent manner
  • Use of a scanner to move stock and pick items of equipment for deliveries.
  • Always maintain high standard of housekeeping in the Warehouse.
  • Undertake risk assessments on activities relating to themselves, modifications, and fabrications prior to undertaking any work/duties, and should they believe that there be a risk of injury to any person then they should seek further instruction – at all costs clients should not be put at risk.
  • Ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and Company regulations, wearing company uniform and PPE as specified.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • Ideally some experience in a warehouse and/or cleaning and/or recycling operative role is desirable  
  • Be flexible with working days/hours to suit the needs of the business.
  • Participate in an emergency on-call rota.
