Home based with occasional travel to sites required 


Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week,
Salary: £35,000 to £37,500 DOE (Car allowance or company car, company bonus scheme post probation)

About the role

As the SHEQ & Governance Coach for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will assist the Head of SHEQ and the SHEQ Team with implementing the SHEQ Strategy, working within all areas of the SHEQ management group. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • To support Medequip in all elements of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management as defined by the Head of SHEQ and HR Director to provide continuous performance improvement
  • To work with the Operational Teams and the SHEQ Team to ensure that Medequip Health, Safety & Environmental management systems’, policy, procedures & documents etc. a
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections/audits as prescribed by the Medequip SHEQ management system and feed the findings back into the Operational Teams and Head of SHEQ for corrective/improvement action.re fully understood and implemented
  • Provide guidance and coaching across the organisation, as required, on all aspects of the Medequip SHEQ management systems, policy, procedures & documents etc
  • Undertake regular SHEQ site visits and internal audits.  Assist in the preparation of external SHEQ audits and participate as requested by the Head of SHEQ and/or the HR Director.   Assist in the implementation of the corrective/improvement actions following the issue of the audit report.
  • Assist the operation teams to carry out thorough and detailed investigations into accidents and incidents.  Support the Appointed Formal Investigation Leader in the timely completion and return of the investigation. 
  • Support the Head of SHEQ and the HR Director in the development, implementation and delivery of Health, Safety & Environmental coaching programmes as required
  • Liaise with local leadership and the relevant enforcement authorities/agencies on the notification of incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and the reporting/recording of these incidents
  • Attend, where appropriate, leadership meetings, Health, Safety & Environmental meetings, contract meetings and workplace Health, Safety & Environmental committees/Safety Improvement Teams
  • Escalate and cascade matters of concern through the appropriate channels to ensure that issues are dealt with and that future risk is controlled, supporting the SHEQ Team and the local operations to do the same where appropriate
  • Other task and duties as commensurate to the post / grade and per specific contract requirements

Qualifications and experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C or above (including English, Maths), or equivalent training or experience is essential
  • Minimum of three years’ experience of working within a Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality management field is essential
  • Full valid driving licesnse is essential
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and NEBOSH National General Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety is desirable
