About the role

As the 1st Line IT Support for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will support and maintain in-house technology equipment and IT assets

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborating with other operational teams on internal escalation of issues and deployment of hardware
  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal using the ticketing system
  • Assist in planning for meeting future computer and hardware needs
  • Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware and equipment. Acquisition & Deployment
  • Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and any other hardware peripherals. Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, end user workstation hardware.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware related problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions.
  • Receive and respond to incoming support tickets regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
  • Maintain and improve existing inventory & assets numbers of all printers, scanners, PC’s, Laptops and other peripheral equipment.
  • Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
  • If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors. Including scheduling offsite repairs as needed
  • Arrange the return and dispatch of all hardware from a central location (Stafford) working closely with various couriers
  • Arranging the collection & inventory of hardware to be decommissioned and follow the relevant WEE processes.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • Minimum 6-12 Months Experience
  • Qualifications: Level 2 NVQ English/Maths or Equivalent.
  • Preferably but not essential: CompTIA A+
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience – training will be provided
  • Ability to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
  • Ability to conduct research into hardware issues
