Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £25,000 per annum

About the role

As the Junior Special Buyer for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will manage the procurement of specialist and bespoke equipment for contracts, ensuring timely ordering, cost efficiency, and excellent service to stakeholders. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Order Processing

  • Raise purchase orders for specialist/bespoke equipment within agreed KPIs.
  • Ensure all orders are processed within 48 hours and monitored through to receipt.
  • Provide daily updates on order progress and status.

Supplier & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Obtain competitive quotes to achieve best value for contracts.
  • Liaise with occupational therapists (OTs), suppliers, and customer service teams regarding orders and queries.
  • Monitor and resolve issues with returns and faulty goods.
  • Chase back-order reports weekly and communicate outcomes.

Financial & Reporting Duties

  • Ensure accurate cost allocation to contracts and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Process supplier invoices for minor adaptations.
  • Maintain and update key reports, including Specials Merchandiser Pivot Report and Invoice Check List.

General Administration

  • Provide timely and accurate updates to stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
  • Handle queries and resolve issues in a professional and proactive manner.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or administration (desirable but not essential).
