Medequip is the leading provider of medical equipment services to local authorities and the NHS across the UK, delivering a wide range of equipment and support to people in their own homes, keeping people independent for longer.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced IT Network Manager to take ownership of the design, performance, resilience, and future direction of our network services across Medequip and its group companies (including RossCare and Consolor).

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a purely BAU position. You’ll shape and deliver a secure, scalable, cloud-first network strategy that supports business growth and digital transformation, working closely with our IT Security Lead to ensure security is embedded by design.

You’ll play a key role in evolving our network architecture (including SD-WAN, Azure networking, VPNs and firewalls), leading infrastructure projects end-to-end, and driving innovation through proof-of-concepts and new technologies.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Own and evolve the Group’s network strategy, architecture, and roadmap
  • Lead the design and delivery of resilient, secure network solutions across sites, depots, cloud, and remote users
  • Drive the transition to SD-WAN and cloud-integrated connectivity
  • Design and manage Azure networking (vNETs, NSGs, firewalls, private endpoints, ExpressRoute)
  • Work closely with the IT Security Lead to support a zero-trust, secure-by-design architecture
  • Act as the technical lead for network and infrastructure projects, from concept to implementation
  • Run proof-of-concepts to evaluate new technologies and vendors
  • Own network performance, uptime, monitoring, and incident escalation
  • Manage key vendors and service providers
  • Maintain strong documentation, standards, and continuous improvement

About you

Above all, you will identify and align with our company values:

  • We keep our promises.
  • We empower people to be accountable for their actions and performance.
  • We help people with empathy, courtesy, dignity and kindness.
  • We show respect and are trusted by our colleagues, suppliers and customers.
  • We believe in teamwork and are passionate about our work.
  • We encourage innovation and the development of technology.
  • We embrace change and seek to achieve excellence.
  • We deliver cost effective, efficient and safe healthcare solutions.

Qualifications and experience required.

    • SD-WAN technologies

  • Cisco CCNP / CCIE (Desirable)
  • Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) (Desirable)
  • Fortinet NSE (Desirable)
