About the role

As the Driver Technician, two person team, for Medequip Assistive Technologies you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional delivery, installation, and collection of community equipment to service users’ homes, residential care facilities, and hospitals. Working as part of a team, the technicians ensure that all equipment is delivered and installed correctly, with care, empathy, and respect for each service user’s individual needs.

This role will require you to work flexibly to suit the needs of the business as well as being able to participate in an emergency on-call rota.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Deliver, install, and demonstrate a wide range of community equipment and adaptations in service users’ homes in accordance with prescriptions and company procedures.
  • Conduct joint deliveries and installations requiring two-person handling to ensure safety and compliance with manual handling standards.
  • Carry out collections of equipment from service users’ homes, ensuring correct decontamination and return to the depot.
  • Complete dynamic risk assessments on-site to identify and mitigate any hazards before commencing work.
  • Ensure all delivery and installation documentation is completed accurately using handheld devices or paperwork as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly and respectfully with service users, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Report any incidents, damage, or faults immediately to the depot or line manager.
  • Maintain company vehicles in a clean, roadworthy condition and carry out daily vehicle checks.
  • Follow company health and safety policies, including safe manual handling, PPE use, and infection control procedures.
  • Participate in out-of-hours (OOH) rota as required to support urgent deliveries and collections.

Qualifications and experience required.

 

  • You must have a full UK driving licence (minimum of 3 years)
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Be flexible with working days/hours to suit the needs of the business and participate in an emergency on-call rota.
