About the role
As the Office Cleaner for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the warehouse and office facilities, supporting the Decontamination Team Leader in maintaining a safe, clean, and pleasant working environment for all staff and visitors
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure all areas are cleaned to a high standard, including offices, warehouse spaces, toilets, and communal areas.
- Carry out general cleaning duties such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping down surfaces, cleaning glass, sinks, and toilets, and washing tiled or painted surfaces.
- Empty and clean bins regularly, ensuring waste is disposed of correctly in line with company procedures.
- Refill and maintain supplies of hand soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue as required.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor scrubbers, or other mechanical cleaning machines), keeping all tools clean, well-maintained, and reporting any faults promptly.
- Follow colour-coded cleaning systems and infection prevention procedures to avoid cross-contamination.
- Adhere to waste disposal and recycling procedures as directed by supervisory staff.
- Maintain awareness and compliance with cleaning procedures, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines.
- Monitor and report stock levels of cleaning consumables to ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
- Follow safe systems of work, reporting any hazards, incidents, or maintenance needs to the Supervisor in line with Health and Safety policies.
- Occasionally assist within the decontamination area, including cleaning and preparing returned equipment for reuse.

Qualifications and experience required.
- Previous cleaning experience (preferably in an office, warehouse, or healthcare environment).
- Awareness of COSHH and Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and with good attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to tasks and working hours as required.
