Medequip Connect provide services to over 50,000 people nationwide with the objective of providing reassurance and support to older, disabled or vulnerable people allowing them to remain safely in their own home.

We help people to maintain people’s independence by providing Technology Enabled Care (TEC) and a range of associated equipment that gives them the confidence of knowing that assistance is available at any time, 24 hours a day.  Our care technology services provide peace of mind to you, your family, and your friends.

About the role

As the Trusted Assessor Technician for Medequip Connect, you will complete Technology Enabled Care (TEC) assessments and installations in the community and identity suitable TEC solutions and standalone assistive technologies to enable services users to remain in their own homes according to their wishes; and to promote independence, choice and well-being and provide support to carers as appropriate.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Understand how disability and frailty affect daily life and how TEC/assistive technology can support safe, independent living.
  • Hold strong knowledge of TEC products, services, and their role in meeting assessed needs and managing risks at home.
  • Assess individuals’ needs and complete TEC assessments to identify appropriate technology solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to recommend suitable equipment for vulnerable and disabled people.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing training to develop assessment skills and stay current with new technologies.
  • Demonstrate strong customer-facing skills, including listening, empathy, and a caring approach.
  • Apply analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.
  • Conduct service calls, troubleshoot issues, and collect equipment no longer required.
  • Build effective working relationships with service providers to ensure clear communication and good outcomes for service users.
  • Provide equipment demonstrations, aftercare, and user education to build confidence and understanding.
  • Install and upgrade digital assistive technology safely, following manufacturer guidance and TSA Quality Standards, using hand/power tools and safe ladder use.
  • Follow processes for stock transfer and maintain accurate service-user records.
  • Support research and testing of new equipment and contribute to project work.
  • Carry out risk and dynamic assessments to ensure personal and service-user safety.
  • Maintain the work vehicle to required standards and complete daily checks.
  • Keep all documentation, equipment, and vehicle materials organised and in good order.

Qualifications and experience required.

  • Full UK Driving License is essential
  • Experience of writing quality assessments/reports and ability to use information technology systems to input and access data
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults, including Mental Health, Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities or Older adults. Work will have included the identification of needs and recommendation of TEC and assistive technology solutions in people’s homes to meet assessed needs
