About the role

As the  Drivers Mate for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will support the safe, timely delivery and installation of equipment to service users. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the right product reaches the right person, in the right condition, while delivering excellent customer care to vulnerable individuals.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role involving deliveries, manual handling, teamwork, and clear communication.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist with vehicle loading, equipment checking, and depot preparation
  • Support deliveries within a designated area (approx. 10–15 drops per day)
  • Assist the driver with navigation and vehicle manoeuvring
  • Deliver and handle equipment safely, reporting any damage or shortages
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding delivery times and delays
  • Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time
  • Support end-of-day unloading and scanning of undelivered equipment
  • Maintain a professional appearance and courteous manner at all times
  • Follow all health & safety, hygiene, safeguarding, and company procedures

Qualifications and experience required.

  • GCSE level education (Maths & English)
  • Full UK driving licence desirable not essential
  • Physically fit with ability to undertake manual handling
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Calm, empathetic, and professional approach when working with vulnerable people
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
