Salary: £27,000 per annum (£12.99 per hour) plus On call allowance paid for the week when on call = £60 then £30 for every job completed within this week
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Adaptations Technician, you will combine the responsibilities of delivery, installation, equipment modification, and minor adaptations. This is far more than a driving role — you will be pivotal in enhancing lives by providing safe, effective, and life-enhancing equipment alongside a second-to-none customer experience.

You will ensure all adaptation and installation work meets agreed specifications, performance standards, and qualitative and financial targets.

This role requires flexibility in working hours and participation in an emergency on-call rota.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving to customers’ homes in a respectful, professional, and approachable manner
  • Delivering, collecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing healthcare equipment
  • Making new or modifying existing equipment, fixtures, and fittings to maximise independence and mobility
  • Designing, modifying, and constructing equipment to enable safe installation
  • Carrying out minor adaptations within service users’ homes
  • Undertaking joint visits with prescribers to assess risk and suitability
  • Demonstrating equipment use and providing guidance to service users and prescribers
  • Training prescribers on measuring stairways and assessing for ramp access and platforms
  • Using power-operated machinery and industrial workshop equipment safely and competently
  • Performing basic DIY and fabrication tasks
  • Undertaking risk assessments prior to modifications or installations
  • Ensuring the right product, in the right condition, is delivered and installed
  • Providing exceptional customer service with empathy, dignity, and kindness
  • Participating in an emergency out-of-hours rota in line with contract requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Full UK driving licence (minimum 3 years)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Practical DIY, fabrication, or technical skills
  • Confidence using tools, workshop machinery, and power equipment
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Willingness to participate in an emergency on-call rota
