About the role

As the Customer Operations Assistant for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting warehouse operations, ensuring customer enquiries are handled efficiently and orders are accurately processed, picked, packed and dispatched in line with company standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email and internal systems in a professional and timely manner
  • Liaising with customers regarding order status, deliveries and stock availability
  • Handling complaints and issues calmly, escalating where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate customer and order records within company systems
  • Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch accurately and efficiently
  • Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock
  • Assisting with stock control, inventory counts and warehouse organisation
  • Ensuring all goods are handled and stored safely and correctly
  • Supporting goods-in and goods-out processes and meeting required deadlines
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Following health and safety and manual handling procedures at all times
  • Working collaboratively with customer service, warehouse and logistics teams
  • Supporting continuous improvement of customer and operational processes
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by management

Qualifications and experience required

  • Strong customer service skills with a professional telephone manner
  • Ability to multitask between office-based and warehouse duties
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic IT skills, including order processing systems, email and spreadsheets
  • Physical ability to carry out warehouse tasks, including manual handling
  • Reliable, flexible and team-oriented approach
  • Previous experience in customer service, operations or warehousing (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of order fulfilment or logistics processes (Desirable)
  • Reach Forklift licence, or willingness to train (Desirable)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment (Desirable)
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable and willing to learn
  • Organised, dependable and customer-focused
